Children, Youth, and Families
BPA conducts research on programs and interventions that promote children's growth and development, and support safe, stable and healthy families. Our work on projects related to children, youth, and families focuses on important topics that include child care, child welfare systems, children and welfare reform, youth violence reduction and youth development. We also examine programs that promote family economic self-sufficiency, taking into account the relationships between the financial and emotional health of the family and the health, comfort, and security of children. BPA staff have extensive expertise in child assessment, analysis of child outcomes, and policy issues concerning child care, child welfare, and child abuse and neglect.
